Registration for NSELL's Fall 2015 baseball season is now open.
Fall baseball is a competitive program with opponents in other Newton leagues as well as Weston, Needham, and others. Games begin in early September and are typically played two times per week, one on Sunday and one during the week. The season lasts approximately seven weeks, plus playoffs.
The fall programs are extremely important for players’ development, since they are essentially the equivalent of another season of experience. For purposes of the fall league, participants must be age eligible for NEXT year's 2016 Little League Spring Season. Each League is responsible for recruiting and registering their own team(s) and must provide a Little League Field and Umpires for games played at that field.
The cost of the Fall program is $125. Registrations made after August 23, 2015 are subject to a $30 late fee and placement is not guaranteed. Refunds may be requested before August 23, 2015 minus a $20 administrative fee. No refunds will be made after that date.
There are three divisions:
Majors - open to players who were on a NSELL Majors team during the Spring 2015 season. Additionally, Minors players who will be Little League age 12 for the Spring should register for Majors and will be placed on a Fall Majors team to gain experience.
AAA (Minors) - open to players who were on a Spring 2015 AAA team, and select players from the AA Division upon invitation by the Fall Commissioner.
AA (Minors) - open to players who were on a Spring 2015 AA team, and Spring 2015 Farm Players born in 2007 or before. "Rising 2nd Graders" born in 2007 should strongly consider whether Fall Farm is more appropriate. AA/Minors players are expected to be able to not only face live pitching, but be able to consistently approach/catch thrown balls/fly balls.
Please register for a program based on the criteria above. Players who are moved up will be notified by the Commissioner and those registering for the incorrect program will be placed in the correct league. The decision of the Commissioner is final.
